DEGESCH® PLATES Magnesium Phosphate

Phosphine Gas Generator

Insect, Weevil and Rat poison

Composition:

Degesch® Plates: they contain 56% magnesium phosphate, embedded in an inert semi-rigid matrix, covered in both sides with papel that is permeable to humidity and phosphine. Each plate comes individually wrapped in an aluminum package which is impermeable to gas.
Exposed to humidity and environmental temperature, they react releasing phosphine. This release is gradual for Magtoxin® (for 24 hours, with 20ºC and 60% humidity, it releases 75% of the phosphine) and immediate for Degesch® Plates (100% release after 24hs.), due to the absence of ammonium carbamate in it’s formula.
The phosphine generated from magnesium phosphide, acts on insects in the same way than the one generated by aluminum phosphide, affecting important metabolic processes. The quick release of the gas makes it effective concerning plagues in stored goods on all stages of their development, including fruit flies and other quarantine plagues.

Areas of Application:

Degesch® Plates are suitable for fumigation of processed and manufactured products and sub products such as flour, grits, balanced meal, crackers, dried fruits and vegetables, spices, coffee, tabacco, chocolate, pasta, etc. Phosphine is able to penetrate without difficulty layers of polyethylene with a thickness of less than 50 microns, burlap bags, regular paper, etc.
Degesch® Plates can be successfully applied under almost any storage condition, considering the place is perfectly sealed, using 1 plate per 25/30 cubic metres.

Safety:

Alter the treatment, Degesch® Plates are easily collected and, once deactivated, easily disposed of. Fumigation with Degesch® Plates is a quick and efficient way of controlling insects, thanks to its easy and safe application.
Degesch® Plates leave no residual dust on food, avoiding its contamination. Degesch® Plates don’t alter the organoleptic properties (color, flavor, aroma, etc.) of fumigated goods.
They don’t affect the ozone layer.
